Speed data and before/after evaluation of traffic calming
Councilmembers Owen and Mulvey-Woolridge want accessible data showing whether road redesigns and speed humps actually work, so they can answer constituents. New speed probe data is under contract, with data going back to October 2024 and a kickoff expected by year's end.
Speed management plan and data
The city's speed management plan (finalized March 2025) recommends policy, design, education, and enforcement changes. Speed probe data should launch by end of 2026, and members want before-and-after crash data for controversial projects like right-sizing on Frankfort Avenue and Lexington Road.
District 11 sidewalk repairs
$21,356 will fix sidewalks at seven District 11 locations, targeting pavement rated 3-5 while Public Works crews are already working nearby.
Sidewalk fee-in-lieu versus waiver for church expansion
Cornerstone Church asked to skip a sidewalk along a highway-transition stretch where the state says no sidewalk should be built — but the $39,920 fee-in-lieu still applies. The board denied the waiver, saying if the city never collects for sidewalks, sidewalks never get built.
Sidewalk repairs and extensions
District 5's sidewalk blitz gets its final $58,522 round of repairs at five addresses, and District 26 funds a $65,000 extension completing the sidewalk to Seneca High School.
